Under the Dodd-Frank Act, the CFPB inherited authority over the privacy provisions, including privacy notices, of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The Dwolla enforcement action announced earlier this year showed that the CFPB also intends to be involved in data security issues and financial institutions of all types should take note.
