Buckley Sandler Wins Outstanding Firm Award for Charitable Work

At the 45th anniversary of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee (WLC) Wiley Branton Luncheon, Buckley Sandler took home the Outstanding Firm Award for Public Education. The award was given in recognition of the continued support the Firm has provided to the WLC DC Public School Partnership Program. This Program partners 40 DC law firms and businesses with DC public schools forming mentoring and tutoring relationships with thousands of DC students. A key component of the Program’s fundraising effort has been an annual bake sale and Buckley Sandler has raised more funds than any other law firm in the city the past two years.

The Firm has also taken on a new school partnership with Walker-Jones Education Campus, housing Pre-K to 8th grade students, and has purchased books for every student in the school for the summer. Buckley Sandler will start a reading and mentoring program with the students in the Fall of 2013. Additionally, the Firm has helped support the school’s Farm, which has raised over 3,000 pounds of food, some of which is donated to DC Central Kitchen, an organization that provides meals to low-income and at-risk residents in the DC Metro area.

Buckley Sandler is honored to receive this award and looks forward to furthering its partnership with the Washington Lawyers’ Committee and Walker-Jones.
