Andrew L. Sandler Quoted in Banking Exchange Article, “Regtech to the Rescue?”

Andrew L. Sandler was quoted on June 1, 2017 in a Banking Exchange article, “Regtech to the Rescue?” which examined the many challenges currently facing financial institutions. The article stated, “For many institutions, the regulatory vat has been overflowing for some time. Gridlock in Washington only underscores that nothing meaningful will change soon on the ‘supply’ side of compliance,” and went on to say that Regtech may be the best answer to these challenges.
Sandler noted, “We’ve gotten to the point where financial institutions can’t just throw more FTEs at the problem anymore.”
With regard to solutions, he stated, “We’re at the forefront of a very significant integration of technology to improve the effectiveness of compliance and to drive down the cost of compliance. Regtech is a new term, but it’s not a new concept. But we are at an inflection point in terms of finding more profoundly effective solutions.”
