Press Release

David Krakoff Named a Law360 Trial Ace

Buckley Sandler is proud to announce that partner David Krakoff has been named one of Law360’s 2015 Trial Aces, an honor recognizing the career accomplishments of the top trial attorneys in the U.S. Selected from a pool of more than 200 attorneys, Mr. Krakoff was one of 50 winners for the inaugural list.

A noted white collar and FCPA litigator, Mr. Krakoff has more than 30 years of experience representing individual and corporate clients in high-stakes criminal and complex civil litigation and enforcement cases throughout the country for a variety of foreign and domestic clients. He has won 55 of the 60 trials he has worked on throughout his career, many of which have involved representing individuals before the Department of Justice and other federal agencies. His recent wins include the 2011-2012 Africa Sting Trials, the DOJ’s largest FCPA criminal prosecution ever, in which Mr. Krakoff ultimately achieved a dismissal of all charges for his client, and his successful representation of Noble Corp.'s former CEO and CFO Mark Jackson against an FCPA enforcement action brought by the SEC, which settled in 2014 on the eve of trial with no payments to the SEC and no restrictions to the client’s future employment.

Described as “intense, persistent and tireless” in his Trial Ace profile, Mr. Krakoff is recognized for his attention to detail and meticulous preparation, as well as his skill in support clients through the personal upheaval caused by years-long trials. “He is probably the most persistent and prepared lawyer I have ever seen. He is constantly working to be as prepared as humanly possible,” said Benjamin B. Klubes, Buckley Sandler's co-managing partner.

“What you have to do is build trust and your client has to understand you're going to be there with them come hell or high water, said Mr. Krakoff in his profile. “The critical thing in the early stages is to build that bond of trust and it only comes from being straightforward, supportive — but challenging — and listening.”
