Washington, D.C. – Today, Buckley Sandler LLP announced that Tina Tchen is joining the firm as a partner and will lead the firm’s Chicago office.  Tchen most recently served in the Obama administration as Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama.  For 23 years prior to her government service, she handled complex litigation, enforcement and regulatory matters in Illinois and nationwide with Skadden.

Andrew L. Sandler, Chairman & Executive Partner at Buckley Sandler LLP, said: “Tina and I worked closely together on client matters for many years prior to her joining the Obama Administration.  She is an outstanding lawyer and leader and I am very excited that she has chosen to join us and to lead our continuing efforts to build a strong Chicago presence for the firm.  We welcome her national leadership on diversity and women’s issues, which are core values of our firm.”

Tina Tchen, Partner at Buckley Sandler LLP, said: “I’m thrilled to join Buckley Sandler.  Buckley Sandler is unlike any other firm in the country, and its experience in complex and cutting-edge issues is among the broadest and deepest in the industry.  Apart from being recognized as the best at what they do, I was also drawn to the firm by how they do it:  Buckley Sandler empowers women to succeed, which I believe is a critical issue facing the industry.  As a native Chicagoan, I’m excited to come home to lead the Chicago office and join the Buckley Sandler family.”
